EMPATHY SUPPER #03
As part of Empathy Supper, a 5-course dinner serving modern Indonesian cuisine curated by Soydivision, I had a great experience by doing the set, lighting design, and visuals for the art performance 'Subliminal Scarcity' by Borghildur Indriðadóttir.
"In the specific order of things this choreographic currency was never intended to play out like this, but lets say it does and it does. So, falling off the grid and participating after centuries apart, we welcome Echobeing 20901. In Wasteland we continue to reflect on the challenges we are facing in a new breath of field. So prepare to be utilised - prepare to be revitalised." – Borghildur Indriðadóttir
The event took place at KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin. Inspired by the beautiful architecture by Dan Graham, translucent plastic sheets, wind, and smoke have been used to recreate the 'Wasteland' and achieve dramatic light effects. The dynamic and minimalist visuals also enhanced the misty atmosphere.
